Concepts Discretionary Investmentswas formed by the in-house Investment Committee of Financial Advice & Services (FAS), one of Kent’s leading Chartered Financial Planners. It provides clients and professional connections with an alternative, independently managed and low cost discretionary managed service that focuses on outperforming investment portfolio benchmarks.
Investment decisions are undertaken by the highly qualified and experienced members of the FAS Investment Committee.
Introducing FAS
Financial Advice & Services (FAS) is a renowned independent firm of Chartered Financial Planners based in Kent. First established in 1991, FAS has successfully developed the reputation of being a friendly, professional and ethical advisory practice.

What we offer
Drawing on many years of investment management experience, Concepts Discretionary Investments offer a series of 10 investment portfolios. These have been expertly designed to match the needs and objectives of many FAS clients, as well as clients of Magee Gammon Financial Planning (MGFP)
Consistent investment performance
All 10 of our portfolios are reviewed regularly, and changes made to the underlying investments at least four times a year, as appropriate. At each formal review stage, the FAS Investment Committee will critically review the portfolio and make changes to promote strong and consistent investment performance, whilst keeping the portfolio aligned with objectives and strict risk tolerances that apply to each portfolio.
Six of the portfolios are risk-rated, with Defensive, Balanced and Progressive options. For each option, we have designed two distinct portfolios. One is aimed largely at capital growth (with income production as a secondary objective) The other seeks to generate an attractive level of income with good prospects for capital growth.
The seventh portfolio is entirely passive. Here the focus is on providing the lowest cost solution, ideal for smaller portfolios. We also offer a Cautious portfolio, which aims to produce consistent returns over time with lower levels of volatility than markets generally.
Finally, two further portfolios have been devised that also consider Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) or ethical criteria. These have been constructed using the same disciplined and successful process as our standard portfolios.
